Visit to The Red House with the Kathleen Ferrier Society

June 4, 2019

I was honoured to join members of the Kathleen Ferrier Society and friends of the late contralto, Norma Procter at The Red House, Aldeburgh, the home of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears earlier this month. The visit was made to transfer Norma's papers into the Britten-Pears Archive for safe keeping. While there, we were given a private tour of The Red House and shown rare items relating to both Norma Procter and Kathleen Ferrier from the Archive. It was a wonderful day. I was also deeply touched to be presented with a collection of Norma's music, all personally signed and marked up. I hope to use many of them on the concert platform in due course!

As Holofernes, Diana Moore combined military grandeur and suave seductiveness into a superb portrait of a warrior at play on the fields of love.
