Glorious reviews for performances of Scarlatti modern day premiere

October 18, 2015

Diana Moore and colleagues at the Herbst Theatre, San Francisco

Diana received lovely reviews across the board for her tour across the Bay area of Scarlatti's newly discovered serenata, 'La Gloria di Primavera' which received it's US premiere and first performances in nearly 300 years last week.

'...sung by the fine, dusky-voiced mezzo soprano Diana Moore...Spring’s delicately luscious nightingale aria (Moore in a sweet exchange with flutist Stephen Schultz) ... more than justified music director and conductor Nicholas McGegan’s act of musical resuscitation.'

Steven Winn, San Francisco Classical Voice

'The vocal soloists were outstanding. Mezzo-soprano Diana Moore was a radiant Spring. Her "Nightingale" aria, beautifully accompanied by flutist Stephen Schultz, was one of the evening's highlights. '

Georgia Rowe, San Jose Mercury News

'The musical prize on Sunday also went to Spring, in the person of mezzo-soprano Diana Moore, who delivered her assignment with plenty of tonal force and dramatic ardor.'

Joshua Kosman, San Francisco Chronicle.

As Holofernes, Diana Moore combined military grandeur and suave seductiveness into a superb portrait of a warrior at play on the fields of love.
